Fifteen-year-old Gastao Elias won through to the final qualifying round at the Estoril Open on Sunday.
The junior beat Portuguese compatriot Jose Nunes 6-1, 6-0 on Centralito at the Estadio Nacional, to set up a meeting on Monday with Italian Leonardo Azzaro.
Top seed Fabio Fognini remains on course for a main draw berth. The Italian overcame Portuguese wild card Pedro Sousa 6-1, 6-3.
Fognini now meets French No. 6 seed Jeremy Chardy, a 7-6(3), 6-2 winner over Jordan Kerr of Australia.
Second-seeded Michal Przysiezny of Poland will take on No. 7 seed David Luque of Spain in the qualifying round, after a 7-6(2), 6-1 victory over unranked Tiago Godinho.
Luque knocked out another Portuguese player, Leonardo Tavares 6-3, 7-6(4).
Fourth-seeded Argentine Gustavo Marcaccio defeated Australian Ashley Fisher 6-3, 6-3 to set up a match with No. 8 seed Didac Perez of Spain.
Perez beat Portugal’s Martim Trueva 6-1, 6-4.
